Helen Balfour

University Copyright Coordinator - Murdoch University

Professional Bio

Helen has worked in copyright for the past five years, and previously has worked in both Public and University Libraries. Helen has published papers about the need for Australian copyright reforms in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, copyright and heritage and special collections digitisation and creating a culture of copyright compliance in a university setting.  Helen volunteers on the IFLA Copyright and Legal Matters group and peer reviewed chapters for the recent open access publication ‘Navigating Copyright for Libraries’ edited by Jessica Coates, Victoria Owens and Susan Reilly. 

Helen works at Murdoch University in Western Australia as the University Copyright Coordinator. Helen is a member of the Australian Digital Alliance, the Copyright Society of Australia and an ALIA Allied Field Professional.
