Liz Finlay

Canberra Institute of Technology

Professional Bio

Liz studied a Bachelor of Science and then spent 19 years working with surveys and statistical information where she developed a passion for metadata. When surveys lost their charm it was a natural step from meeting people's statistical information needs to understanding and meeting their broader information needs. This is how she found her way to librarianship, collecting a Masters of Information Studies on the journey.

Currently Liz is project managing the implementation of a new Library Services Platform at Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). Once that is complete she will return to her usual job of managing the CIT Bruce Campus Library and providing liaison support to several College Areas. She finds liaison librarian work incredibly rewarding and is delighted to speak on the topic.
