Adrian Bowen is a library practitioner with over a decade's experience working in traditional library settings. Much of his library career was spent at the State Library of Western Australia, where he specialised in collections and technical services roles, including cataloguing, acquisitions, collection development, licensing and copyright, and archives and special collections management. He later worked as a Team Leader and Manager, overseeing collection development, description and access for all State Library collections, as well as centralised procurement for the entire West Australian public library network.
In 2020 Adrian made the transition to the technology sector, and is now a Principal Ontologist working at SEEK. In this role he supports the development and maintenance of ontologies, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies describing all aspects of the employment marketplace, across eight countries and three languages.
